In 1999 I co founded Earthnoise.com, a pioneer in online video sharing. After a successful presentation at Demo2000 we signed on the likes of AOL and others and were well on the way to being the next $1B internet startup.

Alas, the crash of 2001 found us on the runway with an excellent product, but without enough fuel to take off. By April we were dead. The recent sale of YouTube to Google for $1.65B has shown that we had the right idea, but being 5 years too early for the market does not make for a successful exit!

The Earthnoise Video sharing platform was an end to end solution - including a desktop based video capture, crop, encode and upload utility (for Mac and PC), online media tools (media management, video editing, channel creation and management), video greetings, sharing, popularity ratings, easy to use embedding code, and online video viewing, searching and browsing interfaces, coupled with a template based presentation manager and a robust back end.

As VP User Experience I was responsible for recruiting a team and developing the product flows, visual language and user experience, as well as company based content creation, documentation, help systems, and user communities.

It was a great experience!
